The Dutch symphonic gothic power metalband Magion was founded in September 2005.Magion_2011_Landscape

Its current line-up consists of:
Myrthe van Beest : Vocals, Chris Vrij : Guitars and grunts, Arjen van der Toorn : Guitars, David de Waal : Drums, Menno Bruggeling : Bass, Joop de Rooij : Keyboards

Magion create powerful and tightly executed symphonic metal. The songs are elaborately structured and perfectly fit Myrthe’s evocative and partially autobiographical lyrics.
Magion have built an excellent reputation as a live act, and have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with worldwide acclaimed acts such as Epica, Delain, ReVamp, Trail of Tears, Whyzdom, JORN and Sonata Arctica. Also, the band is very proud to be added to the bill of the 11th edition of the prestigious Metal Female Voices Fest in Belgium which will take place on October 18/19/20, 2013.

The new album titled “A Different Shade of Darkness” is expected to be released in the course of 2013. It’s mastered at FineTune Studios in The Netherlands by Peter van ‘t Riet, who has delivered excellent work in the past for After Forever, Epica, Ayreon, Symphony X and many others.
The artwork is created by Jan Yrlund of Darkgrove Graphic Design Studio in Finland.
The new material has all the characteristics of the sound which Magion have introduced on “Close to Eternity”, but the overall atmosphere is darker, more bombastic and even more varied than before.
