"Blues in the Night is a 1941 American musical drama film released by Warner Brothers, directed by Anatole Litvak and starring Priscilla Lane, Richard Whorf, Betty Field, Lloyd Nolan, Elia Kazan, and Jack Carson. The project began filming with the working title Hot Nocturne, but was eventually named after its principal musical number "Blues in the Night", which became a popular hit. The film was nominated for a Best Song Oscar for "Blues in the Night" (Music by Harold Arlen; lyrics by Johnny Mercer)."

My notes:

Something is very wrong. I first learned of Blues In The Night at Demonoid. Now it is nowhere to be found already. By chance I found it at my library and made torrents of the featurettes from the disk which you can find on Demonoid. (The piece with Lester Young is great.)

This is a new torrent of the film "Blues In The Night." Blues in the Night can be described as a Noir version of a musical or a musical version of a noir drama. I think both are true. It's a bit light and bouncy in spots. But the viewing is worth it in itself as it was for me to "discover" a Harold Arlen song I really didn't know at all called "This Time The Dream's On Me."
