SLI BNSF EMD GP15-1 Freight Set

The EMD GP15-1 is a 1500 horsepower road switcher which was in production from the early 1976-1982. There were only 4 railroads which purchased this model of locomotive, one of which being the Frisco (St. Louis – San Francisco Railway). The GP15-1 was originally meant to be an alternative to the rebuilding programs many railroads were undertaking at the time. This locomotive is typically used in yard switching and light road switching duties. The Frisco merged with the Burlington Northern in 1980, and the BN ultimately became part of the modern-day BNSF Railway, and these models reflect that history with the BN Cascade Green still visible on these locos.

Also included is a selection of rolling stock and a ready to run train consist. Some rolling stock pieces were originally available in our now discontinued rolling stock packages. We received a lot of feedback from our customers requesting the return of these freight cars. However, not all our customers are familiar with the process of building train consists, so we have opted to re-issue the rolling stock models as part of turn-key packages, complete with ready to run consists.
